In Japan, monetary gifts are traditionally given in elaborately decorated folded paper “envelopes” called kinpu. They are used for everything from birthdays to funerals, and their decorations reflect the occasion.
This noshi paper wrap is for happy occasions, with the phrase oiwai on the front and red and white mizuhiki. Does not contain an envelope, money is to be folded within the wrap.
Pack of 5 paper wraps. Each measures approx 7 in x 4 in.
HOW TO USE:
1. Remove the mizuhiki closure from the paper wrapping and unfold to place the money in the center.
2. Fold the top flap first and the bottom flap second. Make sure the bottom flap is visible when closed. This is important because the other way around is for funerals.
3. Replace the mizuhiki.
